Gapstead is a highly regarded winery based in the King and Alpine Valley region of Victoria. It was established, as part of the Victoria Alps Winery, in 1997 by managing director and chief winemaker Shayne Cunningham after a distinguished career in California's Napa Valley.

Waterstone Bridge is a range of wines of great intensity, reflecting the 'alpine' climatic influences in the vineyards. The altitude, cool breezes and abundant irrication from snow melt allow the grapes to retain natural acids and sugar with vibrant, lifted fruit flavours. The 'ballerina' canopy method of vineyard management allows gentle morning sunlight and cool breezes onto the fruit whilst shielding them from the hot afternoon sun.

• Un-oaked.
• Malolatic fermentation inparts full flavours and richness. Good tropical fruit nose and refreshing finish.

• 89% Shiraz, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% other
• Feremtation in small stainless steel vats for 7 days, some parcels having a further 5 days skin contact to develop weight and complexity. Aged in small American oak barrels.
• Deep garnet colour with a wonerful array of blueberry, cherry and spice; hints of pepper and toasty oak with blackcurrant on the finish.
