News ArchiveBOUTIQUE BAR SHOW - Manchester, May 2010 Morgenrot's showcasing of our Premium Imported beers - Quilmes, Alhambra and Krombacher - at this event was a great success. Plenty of interest was shown by prestigious venues in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham. The quality of our brands was highlighted by award winning writer and columist Ben McFarland who featured all three beers in his tutored tasting.
BOLTON WANDERERS MATCH DAY SPONSORSHIP - Febuary 2010 Morgenrot continue their association with Bolton Wanderers FC by being the Match Day Sponsor for the game against Wolverhampton on 26th February. 12 members of our staff enjoyed wonderful hospitality at the club, including a tour of the stadium and a meeting with manager Owen Coyle before watching the home team win a closely fought relegation battle. 
TRADE TASTINGS - Spring 2010 A selection of wines from our portfolio will be showcased at the following tastings: Specialist Importers Trade Tasting (SITT) - Manchester 22nd February & London 24th February Trading partners HispaMerchants will be showing a selection of wines from Tapiz, Malma, Vallemayor and Loxarel Further details from SITT. Wines From Spain - London 11th March An extensive range of wines on offer from our suppliers Vallemayor (Rioja), Loxarel (Penedes), Medina (Rueda), Martin Berdugo (Ribera del Duero), Alta Rio (Rioja) and Padin (Rias Baixa) with winemakers from Loxarel and Medina in attendence. VALLEMAYOR RESERVA - Jan 2010 The new release of the 2005 vintage of Vallemayor Reserva was highlighted by Decanter magazine as one of their 'Wines of The Month' for January. Given a 4 Star rating, their tasting notes emphasised a "Superb, traditional Rioja nose, with hints of leather, spice and cedar oak. Round, layered palate, lots of fruit, deliciously savoury and already quite complex. Long. Drink from 2010. (17 points) " BENT & BONGS BEER FESTIVAL Morgenrot were delighted to once again supply Krombacher and Cruzcampo to the continental beer section of this prestigious real ale festival. These two premium brands accounted for nearly a quarter of the festivals sales of draught lager. An impressive 10,000 pints of real ale, 4,700 of draught lager, 2,300 of cider and 1,800 bottles were consumed over the 3 days. MORGENROT'S ANNUAL WINE TASTING: October 2009 Morgenrot Group hosted their Annual Trade Tasting on Tuesday 27th October at Bolton Wanderers football ground. Held in the Chairman’s Suite, this new larger venue allowed the company to showcase more of its agency lines and give more space to its trading partners. Appreciation and thanks are extended to all suppliers who supported and attended, especially to Rafael Perez of Bodegas Vallemayor who made the journey over and to Ted Greaves for presenting their respective ranges of Rioja and Italian wines. With over 125 visitors the event attracted customers old and potentially new. The feedback was extremely positive and the new lines featured in our Trade List were well received. Many enjoyed the opportunity to taste a range of Spanish food products and were impressed by the quality and value on offer of both these and the wines.

TAPAS FANTASTICAS: July 2009 Over 6,000 people attended a weekend festival in Manchester organised by Wines from Rioja, at which selected Spanish Rioja bodegas presented their wines to enthusiastic drinkers. Several stands from local restaurants in the area offered a range of "tapas" . We were represented by our two main Rioja bodegas, namely Bodegas Vallemayor who showed the Blanco, Rosado and Tinto joven wines, the oak aged white wine and their Vina Encineda. Bodegas Alta Rio sampled their Blanco, Rosado and Tinto joven wines and Crianza Tinto. We were delighted by the response from people who commented upon the quality of the samples and supported our company with individual purchases, Just to indicate how successful the event was we returned having sampled or sold virtually everything that we took. A great occasion and one to look out for next time it is advertised. DECANTER AWARDS - RIBERA DEL DUERO: July 2008 We are delighted that our Crianza from Martin Berdugo was awarded 3 Stars in a recent Decanter tasting of the 2005 vintage. Their notes are as follows. "Super aroma: ripe and pure currant. Lovely weight and texture. Nice layers of ripe, plum fruit. Forward and ready. Drink from 2009. (15 points)." IWSC AWARDS 2008: July 2008 Our Champagne House, Bernard Remy, entered the International Wine and Spirit Competition for the first time in 2008 and we are delighted to announce that they won the following awards:
