Avalon Sidra Rolls Out On Draught in Camino

April 2018

With the sunshine and hot weather starting to arrive, the timing couldn’t be better for the launch of our authentic Spanish Sidra Avalon on draught in the four incredible Camino venues across London.

Made in the Spanish cider heartland of Asturias by the world-renowned and multi-award winning producer Trabanco, the innovative company has led the way in the industry by incorporating wine-making techniques and knowledge into their production.

Avalon is a refreshing, crisp Sidra with clean aromas of summer orchards and hints of applewood.  A brilliant pale colour, the delicious tipple has a slow release of fine bubbles which forms an attractive and a persistent lacy head.

Graham Archibald, Morgenrot Sales Director, commented on the launch:

“We’re thrilled to be able to launch Avalon draught into the Camino sites which have set the benchmark for quality Spanish food and drink this last decade. At tastings consumers have been impressed not just with the unique taste profile, but also with Asturias’ cider making traditions and heritage so we’re excited to see the reaction from Camino’s customers as the key cider drinking time begins.”

Avalon is gluten free, has an ABV of 5.5% and is available in 30 litre kegs and 33cl bottles.

About Trabanco

Now in their 4th generation, family run Spanish cider makers Trabanco have picked up more than 50 international awards in the past decade.

The Avalon brand name references the legendary Arthurian island of Avalon – Ynys Afallon – the place where King Arthur’s sword Excalibur was forged. Thus a link is acknowledged between Asturian and Breton cider making to that of the West County and the Celts.

Trabanco, the producers of Avalon, have been a proud family business since 1925, synonymous with quality craft cider. They own over 80 hectares of orchards growing traditional apple varieties in the Spanish cider heartland of Asturias, North West Spain. The apples are processed using traditional methods unchanged for centuries; the juice is fermented with indigenous yeasts, in accordance with the guidelines for “Naturally Fermented Quality Cider.”

In the early 1990s Trabanco was one of the first companies to incorporate wine making practices, such as employing the equivalent of an oenologist, into cider production. The improvement in both analysis and method, such as helping avoid inadequate or excessive treatments, has resulted in acclaimed consistency and quality.
