A Super Brief History of Ok Spring

We first opened our doors in 1985, in Vernon, BC. Inspired by our natural surroundings — and a total lack of damn good, local beer — we started brewing our own. To us, making a better beer isn’t work. It’s a way of life.

With 100+ years combined experience, it’s safe to say our brewmasters know what they’re doing—and that they don’t mess around when it comes to ingredients. Only the best will do: premium two-row Canadian barley, quality hops, our own signature yeast strain, and 100% pure Okanagan spring water go into every beer we make.

While we’d love to spend every day out in the sun on an inflatable pretzel, floating in Kalamalka Lake, or bombing down a mountain on a snowboard, we care way too much about the beer.

“Made with purpose. Brewed to enjoy.”

Okanagan Spring focuses on classic beer styles, brewed with quality ingredients and careful attention to balance. From the malty richness of its 1516 Bavarian Lager to the easygoing Pale Ale and crisp Hazy IPA, the range is made for refreshment, not extremes.

The brewery uses pure water from the Okanagan watershed and carefully selected malt and hops — creating beers that are clean, consistent, and full of honest flavour.

“Independent spirit. Okanagan roots.”

While the craft scene has changed dramatically over the decades, Okanagan Spring has stayed true to its principles: make good beer, stay connected to the local community, and let the quality speak for itself. The brewery’s connection to the land and lifestyle of interior British Columbia remains strong — reflected in both the beers and the people behind them.

It’s beer that fits its surroundings: relaxed, straightforward, and always welcome.

“Okanagan Spring. Beer from here.”

Still brewed in Vernon and still true to its origins, Okanagan Spring represents the best of BC brewing: a commitment to craft, a connection to place, and a no-nonsense approach to quality. Whether you're enjoying a crisp lager by the lake or a smooth pale ale at the bar, it's beer that simply feels right.

Local pride. Clean flavour. Real BC beer.
