Clean The Lines Before You Lock Up

March 2020

The Covid-19 crisis is causing havoc across the On-trade with social distancing and forced closures leaving operators with plenty to worry about at present.

While cashflow and looking after staff will take precedence now, venues also need to ensure that they have the best chance of re-opening quickly, once the crisis has passed.

For venues which normally supply draught beer that have had to close, it’s vital that the draught lines and dispense kit is cleaned.

This can easily be forgotten with all the other worries on their plate but if beer is left in the line for even a couple of days, there is a high risk of a yeast infection.

A yeast infection will likely mean the whole draught system will need to be replaced and this may come at a time when operators are desperate to re-open and when there is a shortage of technicians in the trade.

A proper line clean now before closing and then again when you re-open will solve all manner of challenges and ensure you can start back up quickly, efficiently and safely.

Here’s info sheets on how to clean your beers lines depending on whether you have a pressurised or pumped system  but if anyone has any issues or needs support, don’t hesitate to give us a call on 0161 925 9140
