London Wine Fair Preview

May 2018

With just over a week to go until the start of the UK’s biggest wine extravaganza, we’re delighted to announce that we will be extending our stay at the London Wine Fair’s Trading Quarter and will now be exhibiting for the full three days from stand C20/1.

The London Wine Fair runs from the 21st – 23rd May at Olympia, London. A new section of the show, the Trading Quarter, will showcase key innovation and ‘hidden gems’ focusing on exciting new grapes, styles, packaging, origins, serving solutions and production methods.

Following last month’s preview which highlighted the new Spanish vermouths and Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rosé which will be launched, here’s a quick hit list of a few of our other new tempting tipples that are not to be missed:

Ginebra Espana

After multiple requests from customers and approaches from some impressive producers, we have decided to launch a selection of unique Spanish gins in time for the summer.    This includes Gin Volcànic, offering all the essence of La Garrotxa, triple distilled with volcanic stones, Carnation Gin from Granada with the region’s citrus fruits coming to the fore and Level Gin – a highly aromatic gin in which a floral aroma predominates, combining perfectly with juniper.

Somewhere Else Vineyards

One of our most exciting launches of the year, we expect this superlative selection of wines from Argentina to raise the bar in the UK On-trade.  Using grapes from the vibrant Tulum Valley vineyards that surround San Juan to the north of Mendoza, the Somewhere Else winery merges old and new to create wines that can sit on any restaurant table.  The new range on show includes:

Cabernet Franc – ruby red in colour with aromas of cloves, bell pepper and spicy red fruit, this wine is loved for its silky mouthfeel, sweet tannins and finish.

Petit Verdot – a dark magenta in colour with aromas of plum, blackberries, vanilla and mocha coffee, this wine is well balanced, fruity and complex on the palate with tender tannins.

Torrontes PX – a light pale yellow in colour with a greenish hue, this wine is full bodied with a persistent acidity and offers an abundance of tropical fruit notes on the nose and palate.

Krombacher Pils

By 3pm, the London Wine Fair will be full of wine zombies whose palates are blasted to pieces.  When you hit this zombie stage, our good friend beer is the only solution so from 3pm each day, head over to C20/1 for Krombacher Pils perfection.  Germany’s best selling Pils, sometimes there is just nothing like it!
