Granit Brut ~ 33cl

Cidrerie du Léguer is a craft Breton cider maker.  Most of their 6ha orchards are by the sea, along the estuary of the Léguer river by a small fishing port.

The cidrerie is managed all by hand, including the harvesting and production. The orchards are farmed organically, helping give the fruit very intense flavours and distinct acidity.

All ciders are Brut or Extra Brut, i.e. with as little residual sugar as possible.

Granit Brut is made from 15% bitter, 50% bitter-sweet, 20% sweet, 15% sharp apples. More varietal information is in the Brand Profile below.

Alcohol/VOL:
5.5%
Tasting Notes:

Rounded, generous, fruity and subtle tannins. There is hardly any bitterness making this an ideal thirst quencher.

About the Brand

Cidrerie du Leguer

Cidrerie du Leguer is a specialist Breton craft cider maker.

They are a small family farm with just 6ha of apples. The orchards are managed according to the rules of organic agriculture – activity is mainly limited to mowing the grass and pruning branches.

Each orchard is harvested, by hand, three times from October to December – everything is done by themselves. The apples are then left to further ripen for 3 to 4 weeks before grating and shredding and being gently pressed for about 3 hours. There is a long fermentation process, with the 1st fermentation in the cuvée lasting 5 months before bottling in spring, followed by a 2nd fermentation in the bottle (3 months).

All their ciders are brut or extra brut. No sulfites are added; the cider is made from pure juice, naturally sparkling with a secondary fermentation in the bottles, only racking and filtering when required.
