Pauillac – Château Clerc Milon
A wine with considerable ageing potential; powerful, fruity and full bodied, Château Clerc Milon displays all the typical elegance of the finest Pauillac wines.
The 2004 vintage comprises: Cabernet Sauvignon 58%, Merlot 29%, Cabernet Franc 11%, Petit Verdot 1% and Carmenère 1%. Environmentally-friendly integrated vine growing techniques are employed, keeping the use of pesticides to a minimum. Close monitoring and strict parcel selection are on par with those practised at Mouton Rothschild.
The nose displays perfectly ripe fruit, with notes of liquorice and verbena. From a full palate the flavours build towards a rich and harmonious balance; the tannins are well-rounded, silky and creamy; underpinning the vanilla is spicy oak. Once opened up it shows blackcurrant, blackberry and fresh red fruit mingled with cedar wood notes. Well integrated tannin develop on the palate revealing a fruit flavoured concentration on the finish.
