South Africa - Franschhoek

Franschhoek Valley was settled over 300 years ago by the French Huguenots and is set against the backdrop of the Franschhoek and Drakenstein mountains

It is one of the six main regions within the Cape Winelands – the others being Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Robertson and Wellington. – and is small with only around 30 wine farms.

Set further inland it is less cool-climate than Stellenbosh, and is particularly suited to Rhone varietals.
