White Rat Nitro Pale | 4.0% U.K.

£70.20

White Rat, Ossett Brewery’s classic best-selling cask ale, is now brewed as a Nitro Pale Ale.

White Rat was first brewed in 2011 in the small cellar of the Rat and Ratchet in Huddersfield. This West Yorkshire pub has quite some pedigree - 35 continuous years in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide - so the drinkers there would know a good pint. White Rat became so popular that Ossett Brewery helped out when demand outstripped the supply from the pubs micro-brewery; it then became part of their core range in 2020.

This Nitro version of the flagship White Rat was launched in 2026. It aims to bring a craft drinkers preferences, and demographic, to an iconic cask beer. The marketing was inspired by it being an alternative white version of Guiness - a strong brand, the demand for ‘creamy’ pints with a smooth mouthfeel and the cold temperature of keg.

Aligned as a hop-focused America style pale ale it has found a flourishing niche on the bar with drinkers looking for a bolder but sessionable quality beer, having all the hallmarks of ‘craft’ and as an exciting nitro option.
