Goru Tinto | Jumilla, Spain

£14.70

A  Monastrell dominated blend - a varietal that is the mainstay of the winery - with Syrah (30%) and Petit Verdot (20%) making up the rest of the cuvee. The label depicts Gorú –  a local character who lived as a hermit.

Harvesting is by hand at the optimum ripening time. Each grape variety was fermented and macerated separately for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature no higher than 28C. The wines then have 4 months in American oak barrels.

For a slightly less intense wine the produces offer their Marionette label.

Ego Bodegas, now a decade old, is a boutique winery driven by three concepts – Ego, Talento, Infinito – which are: Ego, the concept of the self; Talento, the capacity for the performance or execution of an occupation; Infinito, the limitless power of the dream.
