The grapes are selected from the inland, elevated Matapiro region and matured in French Oak barriques.

Grapes harvested from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys are cold soaked prior to temperature controlled fermentation in a mixture of steel tanks and oak barrels. There is minimal intervention and fining and the juice is matured on oak for 8 months prior to bottling.
