Jericho 'Fume Blanc' | Adelaide Hills, Australia

£19.00

This Sauvignon Blanc is done differently. Barrel fermentation giving spice, complexity and texture with fresh tropical fruit varietal characters.

Grapes are sourced from the Lockett vineyard in Kuitpo, a sub region of the Southern Adelaide Hills. The high altitude 320-40m is ideal for this variety, allowing slower ripening and giving complexity and elegance. Shallow, well drained soils also allow full concentration of flavours in the fruit and a mineral acidity crucial for this style of wine.

The wine is held in seasoned French oak casks and on lees for ten months with regular stirring.

Founded in 2012, Jericho Family Wines draw on the 70 years combined experience of father–son duo Neil and Andrew who have expanded the business since forebears Vic and Grace Jericho planted their first vines in 1945.

The label was designed by youngest son Kim; inspired by Neil’s father Vic’s handwriting and a quirk of his that he would write his name on the everything he made and owned.
