Jericho Grenache | McLaren Vale, Australia

£29.90

The first wine released from Jericho’s Bracken vineyard located in the McLaren Vale subregion of Blewitt Springs, this attractive, juicy, silky and perfumed Grenache exemplifies why Blewitt Springs is rightly celebrated for growing this variety.

The soils are sandy, nutrient poor, and truly ancient; as old as 56 million years old. Growing season days are long and sunny, moderated by cooling sea breezes from the Gulf of St. Vincent. This site produces fruit of great concentration and fine tannins, with resulting wines that are both powerful and elegant.

Hand harvested fruit from the middle and bottom sections of our Grenache block was fermented in open vessels which were gently plunged once a day to extract soft tannins. Pressed off after a week on skins and matured in seasoned French oak for just 6 months.
