Tribaut 'Les Caillaudries' Pinot Noir | Champagne, France

£33.20

This is a still red wine from Champagne’s Coteaux Champenois AOP

100% Pinot Noir, this old style of wine is resurfacing with climate warming providing more vinification friendly grapes.

‘Les Caillaudries’ is a plot planted in 1982 in Romery. The clay-limestone soil is worked by horse-driven machinery and harvested in small 10 kg cases.

Vinification consists of cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by 18 months of aging on the lees in oak barrels.

Limited production, 600 bottles.

Since 2019 Tribaut has been one of the first Champagne houses to convert to fully organic growing – a rarity in Champagne and something that for the large Houses is almost impossible.

Tribaut-Schloesser was founded in 1929 in the heart of the champagne region in Romery, near Epernay. Four generations of the family have now built upon their passion and expertise to produce a range of impressively delicate and refined Champagnes.
