Château de Domazan

Château de Domazan was built in the 14th century in the middle of Côte du Rhône vineyard, nearby Avignon. The ground is covered with large pebbles that were rolled and rounded on the old Rhône bed. These pebbles that can weigh up to 30 kg are very beneficial to the grapes because they provide excellent conditions for ripening. They store up the heat from the sun during the day and release it slowly through the mild summer nights.

Grape Varieties:
Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah
Alcohol/VOL:
15.0%
Vintage:

Tasting Notes:

Fruit driven nose accompanied by some floral aromas and a touch of spice. Well rounded and balanced on the palate with an exciting harmony of flavours from the different red varietals in the blend. A complex wine with great balance.

A great companion to red meat and game dishes.

About the Producer

François Martenot

The history of Maison François Martenot dates back to the beginning of the 20th century when Lucien Gustave Martenot acquired a 10ha domaine in Savigney-les-Beaune that had been founded by the then sole owner of Chateau du Clos Vougeot.

From this illustrious start Martenot, based in Meursault and now part of Les Grandes Chais de France, has extended its activities through Burgundy and Beaujolais to the Rhone and Languedoc – the latter, for those customers that have good memories, was the JC Beauvoir range.
