Segura Viudas Rose Brut Cava
Brut Rosé from Segura Viudas displays an intense fruitiness on both nose and palate.
In the search for perfect balance between fruit and ageing, the blend is made up of three black grape varieties: 40% Trepat, 40% Pinot Noir and 20% Garnatxa (Garnacha), each contributing their particular characteristics.
Trepat produces the freshness of fruit, the aroma and the finesse. Garnatxa enhances its taste. The Pinot Noir contributes the spicy touch and aromatic intensity.
Fermentation starts with traditional skin maceration to create the colour and to extract the aromas of the grapes. Trepat is macerated for 24 hours at 12-14ºc, Garnacha is macerated for 12 hours at 16-18ºc and the Pinot is macerated in the trailer during its journey to the winery.
The blend of the Brut Rosé is made from 7 separate wines from the three grapes. The first and second fermentations are carried out using Segura Vidas’ own selected yeasts that give the finished wine its own identity. The cuvee is aged for a minimum of 12 months.
Bright, light strawberry pink, with hints of salmon or onion skin. A fine, abundant and consistent mousse with youthful fruit aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and grenadine. Refreshing on the palate, full of cherry fruit and a light crispness balanced by a soft finish to the back of the palate.
