Australia - Eden Valley
Eden Valley lies towards the north east of South Australia’s wine heartland immediately north of the capital city of Adelaide. The region is bordered by other wine areas; the Barossa Valley to the west and Adelaide Hills to the south.
It is one of the country’s premier cool climate wine regions – celebrated for its Riesling which is still the single most widely planted varietal. It was registered as a specific wine region in 1997
Terrain is hilly with altitude ranging from 380-550m and soils range from sandy loam to clay loam littered with gravel. There are currently around 40 wineries operating in the region, including the old established Henschke and the famous Mountadam.
